Big Ben London

There is always something happening after dark in the city. From The Tower of London to Big Ben, so many of the iconic landmarks accentuate the skyline with pizazz.

Whether its a leisurely stroll on The Southbank or an energizing jaunt around Picadilly Circus, you’re bound to be inspired by the beauty of the city after dark.

Go Ice Skating

If you are in London at Christmas , definitely put this on the list!

Not only is it a great way to move your body, you’ll get to have some well-earned fun experiencing the holiday festivities.

London Wellness Ice Skating Rink at Somerset House

Skate in one of London’s prettiest UNESCO sites at The Queen’s House in Greenwich Park, whizz around the rink with The Tower of London in the background, or take in the Georgian architecture at Somerset House.

You’ll feel like a kid again, I promise!

Take A Mindful Photo Walk

Mindful photo walks are a great tool for your well-being kit as they are an ideal way to relax.

London is one of the world’s best places to do photography and there’s something for everyone’s passion.

Deer in Richmond Park London

This is one of my favorite travel acvitivies (as you can probably tell from the many other posts about mindful photo walks). It makes a regular appearance on my self-care travel list!

There are so many hidden corners and off the beaten path places to explore. And lots of green spaces to get lost in your own little world.

My favorite green space for a Mindful Photo walk, Richmond Park!

Cycle The Thames

London’s public bicycle scheme is a fun & inexpensive way to travel around the city.

There are more than 750 docking stations spread across the city, so you can go just about anywhere.

Transport for London’s (TFL) Thames Loop route will take you along the historic riverfront, which is ideal for its open views of the major sights.

If that’s not your speed, there’s also a Hyde Park Loop and a Royal Loop. Find the maps that also highlight key historic sights here.

Grab Breakfast at 26 Grains

There are many places to grab breakfast in the city, but you can’t beat 26 Grains for wholesome, nourishing, & yummy.

This Danish inspired eatery sits in the charming Neal’s Yard corner of Covent Garden (which is one of my favorite places to stay when I am in London).

There’s limited seating, so I always get their first thing.

Hands down, get the porridge! It’s a filling start to the morning, especially if you are going to do a lot of walking. Which in London, is always on the agenda!

Dig Into Street Food

Few cities in the world can match London’s street food scene.

London Street Food Stall

Food vans, stalls, pop-ups, & established markets can be found in every borough. So, there are no shortage of places to indulge your inner foodie.

You’ll find ethnic, vegan, vegetarian, and fresh food to savor all across the city. And even more options during the holidays!

Calm Your Mind & Body At Re:Mind

If you are looking to calm you mind & body, London has a lot to offer.

An ideal place for one-stop shopping is the Re:Mind meditation studio in Belgravia.

It’s a convenient choice for travelers because they offer drop-in sessions for all levels and it’s close to Victoria Station.

You are bound to find something here that resonates with you as they offer a variety of bespoke classes such as Heart Meditation, Yin Yoga, Breathwork, Tibetan Bowls, Gong, & Tea Ceremony.

Places like the Lush Flagship store on Oxford Street offer body treatments with heavenly scented products that transport you to a state of relaxing bliss.

Or for a truly holistic wellness experience try Bamford Wellness Spa at Brompton Cross. Their three pillar philosophy of move, breathe, and heal will restore harmony to your mind & body.

Disconnect In Nature

Surprisingly enough, parks and green spaces cover almost twenty percent of London.

There are over 3,000 parks of varying sizes spread across the city. Which makes finding green spaces to disconnect quite convenient.

There are truly immersive green spaces like wetlands, nature reserves, and woodlands to enjoy.

As well as other spaces integrated into the fabric of the city like canals, squares, historic cemeteries, and Royal Parks.

Nature is always good for tech-free adventures and provides a good dose of mindful travel to refresh your mind & body. Some of my favorites…Regent’s Canal, Russell Square, & Greenwich Royal Park.

Visit A Stately Home & Garden

Why not combine history with some time outdoors and visit a stately home or palace?

London certainly has some inspirational country houses that will wow you with their architectural detail and garden spaces.

Fenton House & Gardens London

You could spend the day wandering the garden maze at Hampton Court Palace, explore 17th century gardens on the banks of the Thames at Ham House & Gardens, or find country grandeur (complete with cows) at Osterly House & Park.

The National Trust & English Heritage maintain many of these types of spaces and are great resources to research gardens for any England destination.
