Pollok Country Park (A Peaceful Retreat In The Heart of Glasgow)

Pollak Country Park (A Peaceful Retreat in The Heart of Glasgow)

Pollok Country Park is Glasgow’s biggest and undoubtedly most unique green space.

A rural landscape in the heart of the city. The home of ancient trees, woodlands, wildlife, winding footpaths, a Georgian mansion, Clydesdale Horses, and even a fold of Highland Cows!

It’s like being in the countryside, without having to leave the city. Come along and see for yourself what Pollok Country Park has to offer.

Pollok Country Park

This gem of a green space is located only 3 miles from Glasgow’s city center and is a welcome retreat from the hustle & bustle of the city.

It’s an ideal place to experience the combination of what Scotland does best, marry history & heritage with the landscape.

In 2007 it won Britain’s Best Park Award and in 2008 it was voted the Best Park in Europe. So, you know there has to be something special about this place.

If you are looking for a peaceful sanctuary for the day, a place to reset your well-being, then this is the place for you.

It’s one of my favorite places in Glasgow, along with The Necropolis Victorian Cemetery.

I’m a big believer in wellness travel, intentionally traveling in ways that enhance the mind & body. In fact, wellness travel is growing, and it’s not really a surprise. After all, couldn’t we all use more time to build our well-being?

Pollok County Park

Pollok Country Park is a lovely way to reset and restore your mind, body & spirit. Look at it this way, it’s an ideal spot for some moments of self-care.

In fact, parks in general, are an ideal place to digitally detox and worthy of a spot on any wellness travel planning list.

Pollok’s fresh air and open spaces make it the perfect spot to stretch your legs and commune with nature. The art and history will inspire you. And the peaceful landscapes will fill you with calm.

Simply put, you will leave feeling better than when you arrived!

Mark your bucket list, this place is worth the trip. It’s my favorite place in Glasgow and it makes me happy every time I visit!

Pollok House

The ancestral seat of the Maxwell family, this country estate has occupied the land for more than 800 years. Today Pollok House is run by The National Trust for Scotland.

This elegant Georgian home is full of lovely period furniture, as well as an impressive Spanish art collection. And the extensive servants’ quarters are fascinating to explore.

Better yet, the formal gardens offer fresh air inspiration, spaces to simply be present with nature.

The landscape at Pollok Park is a work of art in its own right and worthy of a visit for those looking to experience a bit of mindful travel.

Hands down, it’s one of the best mindful photography locations in Glasgow.
