Wellness In Covent Garden

It’s no secret that I’m a passionate advocate for travel as a way to well-being, as I truly believe that wellness travel is a way to experience fulfillment & meaning in life.

Traveling in ways that rejuvenate is something we can undoubtedly all use more of these days!

In fact, just a few weeks ago a friend and I made time for a wellness weekend getaway in London to relax, reboot & recharge.

After all, there’s nothing like quality time with an old friend to boost your happiness, right?

Covent Garden London

The approach was a little bit of wellness travel planning, mixed in with some spontaneous adventure. It was mindful, thoughtful and great fun! And other than some google maps, it was a nearly tech-free vacation.

We kept up with our self-care routines by incorporating healthy mind & body practices and really dove into some of the unique & fun things the city has to offer.

London, England is a regular stop on my travel agenda. I love to photograph London and my go-to hotel in Covent Garden is the perfect central place from which to explore. There’s always something new to experience and the atmosphere changes with each season.

You can’t help but love the blooms in the spring and the festive decorations of both Covent Garden & London in December.

But no matter the season, here are some tech-free healthy adventures in Covent Garden. To help you relax & recharge right in the heart of the city.

Take an Early Morning Walk

Stretch those legs and welcome the day with a mindful early morning ramble!

One of the unique things about Covent Garden is the many pedestrian streets and alleyways. Making it ideal for a walk or even a jog.

Covent Garden Street Cart At Christmas

It’s blissful to experience the peace and quiet of this area before it fills with both locals and tourists alike.

You get a better appreciation for the beautiful architecture and can experience it’s hidden corners in solitude.

Head to Plant for Organic Juices

This is an ideal place for a healthy pick me up.

Tucked away on a quiet side street off the strand is Plant, the perfect spot to revive with fresh pressed juices or a protein shake.

The brand believes that living a healthy lifestyle is an ongoing journey rather than a destination and that we should always try to better ourselves. That’s something we can all get on board with, right!

Browse Neal’s Yard Remedies

Neatly tucked away in a colorful corner known as Neal’s Yard, is the Neal’s Yard Remedies store. Warning…the heavenly smell will invite you through the door every time!

This award-winning natural and organic skincare company handcrafts its products by using ethically sourced botanicals, herbs, and essential oils.

They are also cruelty-free and carbon neutral. Look no further to find quality products that support the greater good. Oh, and they have a nice selection of essential oil rollers!

Book a Holistic Treatment

Right next door to the Neal’s Yard Remedies store is their Therapy Centre. This is their biggest treatment center, a place of well-being where you can enjoy a wide variety of holistic treatments and therapies.

Find some R & R with a hot stone massage, book a rejuvenating facial, or restore your balance with aryuvedic treatment.

Any treatment here is bound to add some calm & happiness to your trip. And with over 80 practitioners, there is something to meet just about everyone’s needs!

Rejuvenate with an Ancient Bath Experience at AIRE

If you’re looking to take a journey of relaxation in a beautiful candlelit building, then The AIRE Ancient Baths are for you.

Sandwiched between the Strand and the Thames River, this unexpected oasis of calm is enough to bliss you out with serenity and calm. Seven baths of varying temperatures allow you to explore relaxation at your own pace.

It reminds me of the thermal baths I used to frequent in Germany, except with way fewer people and a much calmer vibe.

Grab Lunch at The Seven Dials Market

The Seven Dials Market is the only covered food market in The West End, making it perfect for hot day, rainy days, and well just about any day really!

Here you’ll find a variety of yummy, independent food and drink with an interesting story.

The market was founded by an organization of street food traders who believe London should be filled with “slap-you-in-the-face-it’s so good flavour” food. And better yet, that the businesses can be built from the ground up by the vendors who bring their passion to the table, so to speak.

Directly supporting small businesses is good for people and the planet, and it’s nice to see this thriving in the heart of London.

Rest & Relax in St. Paul’s Courtyard

Right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Covent Garden is the little known garden of St. Paul’s Church.

Wellness in Covent Garden

Lined with benches, this quiet spot is the perfect place to take a pause from the vibrant surrounding area. Here you will find trees, flowers, and birds singing. Sit and eat your grab and go lunch or just breathe in the fresh air.

Your mind & body will be happy for the opportunity to be fully present before and you continue to explore the city feeling refreshed.

Performing Arts at The Royal Opera House

If you love the arts, then don’t miss experiencing all The Royal Opera House has to offer.

Home to the Royal Opera,The Royal Ballet and The Orchestra of Thee Royal Opera House, year round there’s a performance just waiting for you.

I can’t say enough about the Nutcracker, I left feeling inspired!

Find Inspiration at The Theater

If it’s inspiration your heart & soul need then head to the theater!

Cambridge Theatre London

The West End of London is one of the premier places to see a show and it’s something everyone should do here at least once!

Why? Because it’s magical. The theater brings people together. It moves us. It allows us to think, feel, grow our perspectives, laugh, and even cry.

Leaving the theater is like walking out of a concert, you simply feel better. And you know that your life is somehow richer than it was before.

Find Smiles & Laughs with Street Entertainers

In need of a good laugh? Or maybe some awe? Well then, you’ve come to the right spot.

Street Performer Covent Garden

Covent Garden has been putting on street performances since 1662 and it’s definitely something to experience while you are here.

The piazza west of the covered market is where you find the more structured and interactive shows. They always make you laugh, smile and feel a little better, which is good for anyone’s health & well-being!

Finding wellness in Covent Garden isn’t hard. It’s truly a lively neighborhood with something for everyone, year-round!

until the next time…
…live well – travel well – be well
